Comparison

nuvelo vs ResDiary

Two booking systems aimed at different venues. Here is the honest version — including when ResDiary is the better answer for you.

The short version: ResDiary is an established restaurant booking platform with a long track record and a deep feature set, used by everything from single sites to large groups. nuvelo is a newer, smaller thing built specifically for one independent venue. If you are a group with a head office, they are the safer answer. If you are a fifty-cover restaurant where the owner is also on the floor, we think we fit better.

Where we're genuinely different

Worried about moving?

That is usually the real blocker, not the software. Your future bookings, your guest book and any gift vouchers still out there come across with you — we do it by hand, at no charge, and nothing switches until you have logged in and seen your own diary sitting in it. How switching works →

When ResDiary is the better choice

We would rather you picked well than picked us. Go with them if you run several sites and want one contract across them; if you need a long track record and a support organisation behind it; if you rely on integrations or channel connections we simply don't have yet; or if being an early customer of a small product is a risk your business can't take right now.

Those are good reasons. We would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Being straight about where we are

nuvelo is early. We're working directly with our first ten venues before opening up properly, and still adding polish as we go. In exchange, those ten get every feature at the Pro price, locked for as long as they stay, and their feedback shapes what gets built next.

The honest test is ten minutes in the demo with your own tables in it. It's a practice venue with a day's bookings already running, and nothing to sign up for.

This is our own comparison, so read it as such. We've kept it to how the two products are shaped rather than quoting anyone's prices — those change, and a stale figure on our site is no use to you. Check their current pricing and features on their own site before you decide.
